ANDALUSIA DAY, 28th       This Festival is the day when celebrations take place throughout the region to mark the Day of Andalusia. Performances by groups and singers are organised to celebrate this special day. Also at this time, youngsters who will become 18 years of age during the year are presented with a gift from the Town Hall, in recognition of their coming of age.

Competa    3rd     San Blas.         Originally this Saint was practising medicine and using his influence as an excellent doctor to extol Jesus Christ and his religion, and to convert his followers to Christianity.      On this day the blessing of the Threads is carried out in the parish Church. Young and older children always participate in the day. There is a custom of linking the threads, once they have been blessed by the holy water. They say that the person wearing the threads as a collar will not suffer from any condition of the throat.
